Apologize to my fans (probably just my mum) that it's been a while since my last post. It hasn't been that I've stopped Ollycooking. That is never gonna happen. However, I've just had so much on my plate with career issue , and the introduction of a puppy into my life. Finding making time to sit down and write difficult, however, things have settled down on both those fronts. Puppy is growing like mad but much more manageable, so I'll be back on the blogging life.
While going through a little work stress, I decided I was in need of entering a zen like state that can only be achieved through some serious kneading so I undertook the cinnamon challenge. By cinnamon challenge I mean the creation of delicious Cina Buns, not coughing a lung out due to shed loads of ground cinnamon <insert 2012 internet sensational video>.
The buns were made with a brioche dough. This was my first time making brioche, the dough was a bit of a handful and took a lot of work to get right. It wasn't particularly clean as the buttery dough means your hands get a nice moisturising, from the butter hand cream through the kneading.
To assemble some Cina Buns, roll out the dough, than dust it with a layer of a mixture made of brown sugar and cinnamon in a ratio of about 3:1 Brown Sugar to Cinnamon. Roll it up into a big doughy bread stick, than take a knife and cut into inch segments, make sure you glaze the tops and bake until golden brown.
